Alicia Sacramone is a member of the U.S. Olympics Gymnastics National Team, She is a seven-time medalist at the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships.
U.S. Olympian Alicia Sacramone ((born December 3, 1987) is one of the older woman on the team. Sacramone is only 20 years old. The Brown University student is the U.S. gymnastics team leader at the Beijing games. The U.S. women took a silver medal on Wednesday after a series of missteps by key team members. Nearly invincible China took gold and Romania captured bronze in the team event.
Sacramone lost her nerve during the Olypics during team finals. She lost her balance on the beam and it carried over to floor exercise. Officials delayed her start on the balance beam and she thinks that may have contributed to her problems. She apologized to her teammates by saying:
“I think everything just got the best of my head. I got nerves on the beam and carried it to the floor, too.”In the team finals at the Beijing Olympics, Sacramone posted a 15.675 score on vault but fell on both floor and beam, incurring 1.70 points in deductions. Sacramone's teammates Liukin and Johnson also made errors on floor. The American team earned the silver medal, 2.75 points behind China.
Sacramone, along with teammates Shawn Johnson who is another hottie and often termed as American Sweetheart and Nastia Liukin, became the first female athlete ever to be signed as a CoverGirl spokesmodel in June 2008.
